History of the college
Rajagiri School of Engineering & Technology (RSET) is a private self financing educational institution established in the year 2001. This prestigious institution is located at Rajagiri valley, Kochi, Ernakulam District, Kerala. This college is affiliated to APJ Abdul Kalaam Technological University, Kerala. UGC had conferred autonomous status in the year 2020. RSET offers B.Tech degree in eight programs and M.Tech degree in five different specializations. Location of the college
Rajagiri is located at Rajagiri valley, Kakkanad, a pleasant green suburb of metropolitan city of Kochi. The campus which spreads over 95 acres of land is situated on the banks of Chithrapuzha. It is very close to Infopark and only 2 kms from the Cochin Special Economic Zone. The proposed smart city which is the heart of Ernakulam is nearby which is an added advantage for students of this college. This will help students to gain hands-on experience which is very valuable to get a good job.
College infrastructure
Rajagiri School of Engineering & Technology posses a very good infrastructure which includes an auditorium, Chavara hall, sports and fitness center, conference hall, honesty shoppe, gallery hall, video conferencing room, medical center, canteen, incubation center, innovation and entrepreneurship development cell and separate hostels for boys and girls. Seating capacity of the auditorium is 2500 designed in an aesthetic manner with prime importance given to state of the art acoustic system. This is an ideal place for to host events like International conferences, musical concerts etc. The Chavara Hall with a seating capacity of 1500 people is operational with sound system and an overhead projector. In this college, there is an excellent fitness centre with most modern fitness equipments and associated systems. After regular class hours, the department of physical education offers coaching and training for various games throughout the year. The physical education department organizes inter house competitions and inter-collegiate tournaments to provide competitive experience and encourage interactions with student community of other colleges. To develop the nature of honesty, an unmanned stationary shop named “Honesty Shop” which sells all necessary stationary items is functional inside the campus. Students and staff can purchase an item by depositing the listed price in a box kept at the counter. An air conditioned conference hall equipped with ultra modern audio and video system is functional with a seating capacity of 250. There is a multi-cuisine canteen which is functional between 8.00 AM and 4.30 PM which offers a variety of dishes for breakfast and lunch. The canteen also offers different types of snacks and beverages at a pocket friendly rate. Exclusive seating area is available for staff and outsiders with a considerable number of seats. The menu is changed daily and they offer delicious North Indian, South Indian and Chinese dishes every day. There are excellent hostel facilities with international standards separately for both boys and girls. Resident tutors are assigned to look after the welfare of the students. Transportation facility is provided for residents of the girls’ hostel to and from the college. College provides excellent transportation facility with more than twenty buses running between the college and various parts of Kochi and nearby places.
Academics and Placements
This is an autonomous college which is affiliated to APJ Abdul Kalaam Kerala Technological University, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. There are eight different UG programmes and Six PG programmes. For the last academic year, more than 450 students are placed in various companies with more than 900 offers received with an average job offer of 2 per student. Major recruiters are Infosys, Mercedes Benz, TCS, Samsung, Verizon, Yokogawa etc. The Placement cell provides excellent training and facilities to grab a placement in one of the above mentioned recruiters. Specially furnished and air conditioned group discussion and interview rooms are available to meet the requirements of companies seeking to conduct on-campus placement drives.
